Port Richey Hires City Attorney
PORT RICHEY The city has hired a new legal watchdog.
City council members Wednesday night voted to enter into a contract with Michael J. Brannigan, of The Hogan Law Firm, to serve as the city's part-time attorney.
Brannigan, whose firm also represents the city of Brooksville in Hernando County, has asked for a retainer of $2,500 a month and $225 an hour for litigation, for his services.
The council has not yet determined how much he will be compensated.
A native Floridian, Brannigan graduated from the University of South Florida in 1992 and received his law degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston in 1995.
